Scholes House Kennels

Scholes House, Leigh La, Bury BL8 1RJ, UK – 0161 764 1415

I have been taking my loved fur babies here for many many years - first my Nell and now my Josie. Both Cairn Terriers. Two very different little ones - Lesley has built a marvellous caring holiday home for her "guests". Lesley and her team are wonderful and loving and full of care and devotion. I have nothing but praise for Scholes House and their dedication. It cetainly puts my mind at ease knowing that my little one has a wonderful time there. Highly recommended. Thank you for everything Lesley.

Extremely happy and confident leaving my dog Rosie here! The owner Lesley is informative, very caring and a lovely lady. My dog always has a wagging tail when I take her to this kennel. She is very very well cared for during her stay! These days I can’t even walk past the kennel, that my dog is running up to the gate, full of enthusiasm, thinking she is going to stay. This tells me all I need to know about how my dog feels about Lesley and the kennel.

Toms Cattery

321 Turton Rd, Tottington, Bury BL8 3QG, UK – 01204 883974

We've been using this cattery for almost 30 years. I know that my cats will be well looked after.

Top notch. My two three-month-old kittens stayed here over Christmas for 3 days/4 nights, which cost me only £77.00 You could tell they'd been very well looked after. Staff were helpful and obviously cat lovers. Highly recommended, will definitely use again.

Pennine Vets

1 Bury Rd, Tottington, Bury BL8 3HD, UK – 01204 886655

Really friendly staff and knowledgeable vets make this the perfect place to take your portly pets. I used these when my bearded dragon was not well because they're the nearest exotic pets veterinary to me. They did not disappoint and the medication that was provided did the trick so he is back health and happy. Cannot recommend any more highly.

This is the only vets I'd take my little doggie to. It's run by zoologists so they really know what they're doing and can deal with more exotic pets than a run of the mill vet surgery can. Prices are average and the staff are wonderful.

Armac Veterinary Group Ltd

147 The Rock, Bury BL9 0ND, UK – 0161 764 4618

Excellent service and a fantasic team. I took our rabbit to have a registration ring took off his foot as it had moved down his leg and was uncomfortable on him. Nothing was too much trouble. The dedication and commitment is second to none. Thank you

Our 12 year old retreiver Sam was admitted as an emergency in the early hours of Monday morning as he was unable to stand without falling over. He was examined by a vet who insisted on an ultrasound of his heart and also on his spleen first which turned out to be 'normal'. He seemed a little dismissive of his ability of Sams legs to withstand his own weight and was very interested in what the costs were so far. So Sam was admitted until Wednesday eveing when we were allowed to bring him home to see if his motor skills could be improved upon. When getting him home to our absolute horror his mouth was full of ulcers and his tongue swollen and black. This was never mentioned upon collecting him and they prevented him eating and being able to take his medication. Unfortunately we had to have Sam put to sleep as his limbs did not improve. Emily the vet, Courtney the vetinary nurse and also Donna on reception were absolutely brilliant and were both understanding and compassionate. Overall though unless you can guarantee the care given is by the above mentioned staff, be wary and question everything both during care and before any bills are settled.
